June 14, 2019: Suncor Energy Open House

Have you heard about Suncor Energy’s proposed retail gas station and commercial card-lock facility at the intersection of Hwy 1 and the Grand Coulee Access Road?

There will be an open house on June 26 at the Town Hall to talk about this project.

The purpose of the Open House is to provide information to Grand Coulee and RM of Sherwood residents on Suncor Energy’s proposed development at the intersection of Highway #1 and Grand Coulee Access Road. The development is planned as a full-service retail gas station and commercial card-lock facility with a convenience store and drive-thru restaurant. Representatives from the consultant team, the RM, and the Town of Grand Coulee will be present to discuss the project and any questions you may have. The proposal is currently being reviewed by the RM of Sherwood.

June 13, 2019: Reminder to Motorists

When approaching a school bus, if you see amber flashing lights, slow down and proceed with caution. If the red flashing lights are activated, you must come to a complete stop. If you are approaching the bus from the opposite direction on an undivided highway, you must also stop. Passing a school bus with red flashing lights is a serious offence and will result in a minimum fine of $360.

The single greatest threat to the safety of children who ride school buses is motorists who pass the bus when children are loading or unloading.
