RR 2212 Update

RR 2212 is once again open for travel as a gravel road.  Resurfacing will be taking place in a couple of weeks which will require another closure.  Dates will be provided when they are known.

Update Water Distruption

Water Service Update!!!

We would like to thank residents for their patience and apologize for the recent water service interruptions.

 

At this time, there should be no further interruptions to your water service.

 

The hydrant flushing process identified an issue within the water treatment plant's electrical system that caused a malfunction when the secondary pump was called upon to maintain water pressure. While we regret the inconvenience, discovering this issue during routine operations is a positive outcome.

 

Identifying and addressing the problem now helps ensure our water system is reliable when it is needed most—particularly in the event of a fire or other emergency where maintaining water pressure is critical.

 

Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep our water system safe, reliable, and ready to serve our community.

A Win-Win-Win for Grand Coulee!

You may have noticed crews using our hydrants to fill water trucks over the past little while. We wanted to share why this is happening—and why it's a great outcome for our community.

The water is being used by contractors to assist with road work on Township Road 2212. Not only are they paying the Town for the water they use, but by coordinating truck filling with our scheduled hydrant flushing, we're able to accomplish two important tasks at the same time.

Here's why it's a win for everyone:

Hydrant flushing is completed efficiently as part of our regular water system maintenance.
The Town receives revenue from the water being used by the contractor.
Residents benefit directly, as the water is helping improve and maintain a road that many of our residents travel regularly.

It's always rewarding when we can find practical solutions that maximize value for our community. The trucks take about 30 minutes to fill, so service interruptions should not last longer than that. We appreciate your patience.

Residents may experience occasional reductions in water pressure over the coming days due to hydrant usage within the community.

These temporary pressure fluctuations are normal and should only last for short periods. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this work is carried out.

Upcoming Road Closure Notice

Road Closure Update: The RM of Sherwood has just informed us that work is scheduled to begin on RR 2212 on Monday July 20. The road will be closed for approximately 10 days. The road will be closed between Dewdney and Railway Ave. Travel south from Grand Coulee on RR 2212 will remain open.

 

Please be advised that Road 2212 to Dewdney Avenue will be closed for road construction in approximately two weeks. The road will remain closed until the work is completed.

The RM will confirm the exact closure dates within the next couple of weeks. We will share an update as soon as the schedule is finalized.

In the meantime, please plan ahead and use an alternate route during the closure.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these important road improvements are completed.

I just wanted to provide a little more information and clarity regarding yesterday’s post about Range Road 2212.

 

The RM of Sherwood is planning to begin work on the section of road shown in the picture below in approximately two weeks. Once the schedule has been finalized, the RM will provide the confirmed dates.

 

The work will involve removing the existing road surface so that the road base can be properly treated and stabilized. Once that work is complete, the road will be temporarily resurfaced with gravel and reopened to traffic for approximately 7 to 10 days. This will allow time for the treatment to fully do its job and strengthen the road base.

 

After that period, the road will be closed again while the final work is completed and the road is resurfaced to match the existing surface on the way toward Sherwood Forest.

 

I understand that any construction project can be an inconvenience, and nobody enjoys having their regular routines interrupted. That being said, this work is an important investment that will provide a better, safer, and more reliable road for everyone who travels this route.

 

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the RM of Sherwood for their efforts and commitment to improving this roadway. We appreciate their willingness to invest in infrastructure that directly benefits our residents and our community.
